In this week's Urban Express Spotlight, we find smooth R&B singer Lloyd riding his star even higher into the R&B stratosphere with his most recent single entitled "Lay It Down". "Lay It Down" is the debut single from his fourth studio album, "King Of Hearts".

"King Of Hearts" allowed Lloyd to work with a talented pool of producers and writers including Jim Jonsin, Rico Love, The Runners, Ester Dean, and Bruno Mars, to name a few. Awesome Jones (aka Polow Da Don) produced the lead single. Says Polow of his work with Lloyd: "Real music, real singing, classic." Lloyd offered his thoughts, as well: "It feels good to start fresh with Polow and Interscope, making music is fun again. We took my sound to another level with 'Lay It Down'. It's a true R&B sound that's missing from music right now."

Born in 1986 in New Orleans, US, Lloyd has developed a music career as a romantic singer with a seductive voice and lyrics to match, which is somewhat surprising considering he got his start on Radio Disney. Lloyd has definitely proven that he has come a long way from Radio Disney. From 2004's debut "Southside" with then-labelmate Ashanti, to 2007's Top 20 hit "Get It Shawty", and 2008's "Girls Around The World", Lloyd maintains his romantic and sexy image. Lloyd is calling his work on the new album "King Of Hearts" his "best work yet".
